ETC & Internews restore radio station in Petite-trou, Haiti

The Haiti Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Working Group is currently focusing on the roll-out of the radio rehabilitation project in four sites together with Internews.

On Saturday, 10 February 2017, the first community radio station was restored in Petit Trou de Nippes, an area heavily affected by Hurricane Matthew in October 2016. This project marks an important step in providing ETC Services to Communities, and comes in timely for the celebration of the World Radio Day 2017.

Radio equipment requirements supported by Security Communications Services?

Dear all,

as a member of RescueNet, I am looking into the communications equipment of our rapid response relief team. So far, on deployments we mainly hired equipment, but every time we had trouble with it. Sometimes the desired equipment was not readily available. Other times, the equipment was incompatible with the programmers from FITTEST / ETC.

In line with our goal to become more and more professional, we realize that we need to buy the equipment ourselves. Of course, our radio's will need to be compatible with the ETC programmers.
