Between 1-9 April, Cyclone Harold tore through the Pacific, causing widespread destruction in the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji and Tonga.

Category 5 Tropical Cyclone Pam slammed into Vanuatu on Saturday 14 March with winds of up to 250 kilometres per hour, and gusts up to 350 kilometres per hour, causing widespread devastation across the Oceanian island nation.

Vanuatu declared a state of emergency on 5 March after two cyclones and a magnitude 6.5 earthquake devastated the country in the space of just a few days.

On 17 December 2024, at approximately 12:47pm local time, a magnitude―7.3 earthquake struck the island nation of Vanuatu, 31 kilometres (km) west the capital city―Port Vila.

On 24 October 2023, Tropical Cyclone Lola made landfall in Vanuatu as a Category 4 storm. It was the third tropical cyclone to hit Vanuatu in 2023.
