Installation and activation of Hispasat Satellite solution

Hispasat signed a contract with ETC under the Crisis Connectivity Charter to provide free satellite connectivity to humanitarian agencies and affected population in case of emergencies. Hispasat services will be targeting Latin America and the Caribbean region. The training will focus on Hispasat Kit (KU band, 1.2 m antenna and Gilat SkyEdge II-C GEMINI modem).

Training objectives

To understand the deployment procedures, installation, and operation of Hispasat satellite services. The training will enable technicians with the necessary skills to install and troubleshoot VSAT. The training will cover:

  • VSAT installation
  • Terminal Configuration
  • Service activation
  • Troubleshooting
  • Ticketing and communication protocol with Hispasat NOC

Training agenda

  • Day 1, 4 March: Satellite telecommunication theory. Kit unboxing, identification of different parts and available documentation.
  • Day 2, 5 March: Installation procedure, antenna assembly and pointing, cabling, modem installation, and others.
  • Day 3, 6 March: Practical training for incident management and troubleshooting.

Minimum skills required for trainees

VSAT antennas Installation, and IP knowledge


Highly experienced personnel from HISPASAT Broadband services department  (NOC BMC) and RF maintenance team.


Hispasat will provide accommodation in the village of Valdilecha, located 7 Km from Arganda Satellite Control Center.


Transportation between the hotel and Hispasat SCC will be provided.
