As the scale and number of humanitarian crises increase, so does the need for countries to be well prepared and better equipped to manage these emergencies. The Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC) undertakes preparedness measures as a way of strengthening the resilience of high-risk countries, using diverse approaches.

This training is designed to equip humanitarian actors with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and tools to enable them to undertake ETC preparedness activities in-country.

 

Target Audience

This training will target ETC and other IT Emergency Coordinators, Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) Officers, Preparedness specialists, and IT managers who are engaged in preparedness activities 
 

Number of participants: 20

 

Course Objective

The objective of the training is to equip humanitarian actors with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and tools to enable them to undertake ETC preparedness activities in-country. 

 

Learning Objectives


During and after the training, participants will be able to:

effectively plan and design ETC Country Preparedness activities
manage an ETC Country Preparedness project/intervention
develop and manage relationships with key national stakeholders within the context of emergency preparedness
effectively demonstrate key diplomacy and networking skills
share information and report on ETC Preparedness-specific activities
communicate and advocate about ETC Prepared-specific activities
lead and facilitate meetings, workshops, and consultations within the context of ETC emergency preparedness
demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team
demonstrate a service-oriented mindset in preparedness interventions
