Foundational course which provides a a good understanding of the humanitarian landscape, the laws and principles that govern humanitarian action, the various humanitarian actors, the Cluster approach, and how the ETC fits within this context.

 

Goals

This module aims to build a comprehensive understanding of humanitarian response operations and the environment in which the ETC operates.

 

Training course overview

This session provides context to humanitarian response operations; the environment we operate in. You will learn about the key actors in humanitarian operations, the laws and principles on which they base their response, what their involvement is and how they work together. After this session you will have an overview of humanitarian response operations and how the ETC fits into this.

 

Benefits

After this session you will have a good understanding of the role of the ETC in humanitarian operations and you will have a better idea of what to expect when working with or as part of the ETC.
