Fiji to increase number of early warning siren systems by 2018

Five new tsunami early warning sirens are expected to be installed in Suva, the capital of Fiji, by 2018. The project will complement the existing two sirens currently installed on the Suva peninsula at sites in Lami and the main campus of the University of the South Pacific (USP), respectively. The siren system expansion is being delivered under the Building Safety and Resilience in the Pacific Project (BSRP).
