The ETS doesn’t have yet a short list of local suppliers. All the equipment is currently being procured through the Global Humanitarian Service (GHS) based in Dubai. See http://ghs.wfp.org/. The requesting organization will pay for the equipment, administrative fees, shipping and freight, insurance. The requesting organization will be taking care of the customs clearance and other required formalities in the country. The ETS is not involved in the above process.

The ETS is trialling a Radio Installer capable of installing VHF and HF base stations in offices and VHF and HF mobiles in vehicles. Their contact details are:

The ETS requests feedback on the quality, price and efficiency of the services provided by Hamsat to monitor if they are providing quality services.

As of today, we cannot facilitate getting your authorization from the authorities through the ETS. However, note it is part of our plan to provide a common HF & VHF networks for INGO/NGOs for security and safety related matters. In all cases, for internal operational use (specific to organization), each organization will have to obtain dedicated frequencies from the Federal Ministry of Communications (Department of Spectrum Management).
