Tactical Working Groups were a key component of the ETC2020 2015 - 2016 Implementation Roadmap, supporting implementation of ETC2020 through providing domain expertise. Groups on Preparedness, Governance, Solutions, Communication with Communities (CwC),Training, and Visibility & Branding were established, with participation from across the ETC network.

In 2016, all ETC2020 Tactical Working Groups were transitioned into a more ‘consultative’ type role, carrying forward activities that emerged from discussions.

The Joint ETC Communications Team was responsible for enhancing visibility of the cluster encouraging access, inclusion, funding and partnerships, in support of ETC2020.

The CwC Tactical Working Group was launched in July 2015 to drive the ETC’s strategic expansion into this area, ensuring that the cluster plays an incremental, tangible role in humanitarian CwC coordination from now until 2020.

The Solutions Tactical Working Group supported the ETC network by identifying, developing, testing and implementing innovative IT solutions in support of ETC2020 objectives.
