As described in the document foreword, the arrangements enshrined in the Kiribati National Disaster Risk Management Plan (NDRMP) 2012 reflect the commitment by the Government of Kiribati to integrate disaster management planning into a Disaster Risk Management Framework within the broad context of sustainable development. The Kiribati NDRMP was published in October 2012.

The NDRMP contains a communication plan for internal and external communication procedures to facilitate disaster management operations.
