Securing field missions in Ukraine

To strengthen frontline safety and coordination in Ukraine, the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC) has activated two new VHF repeater sites in Kryvyi Rig and Velyka Oleksandrivka. These upgrades significantly expand secure communications coverage across Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Dnipro—critical regions for humanitarian operations.

With these repeaters now fully operational, responders working near the frontlines can connect directly with the UNDSS Security Information Operations Centre in Kyiv. This direct link enables faster, safer, and more coordinated missions, embedding real-time security support into the heart of humanitarian response.

The system is integrated with UNDSS dispatcher software and backed by high-speed fibre connectivity, ensuring reliability and speed when it matters most. These enhancements mark a vital step in enabling secure, responsive communications for those delivering aid in high-risk environments.
